In today’s fast-paced world, academic pressure, social expectations, and personal challenges can take a toll on students’ mental and emotional well-being if no proper care is taken. Recognizing the critical role of mental and emotional health, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has developed many mental and well-being activities to help students overcome difficulties and achieve academic success
Counseling services at UEH
Department of Student Affairs (DSA) provides counseling services for students with mental health-related issues. With a clear Well-being Support and Counseling Process, in 2024, DSA conducted about 40 counseling sessions, addressing a wide range of cases, including:
- 30 cases of students experiencing academic difficulties, career orientation pressure, and major/university-changing decisions.
- 04 cases struggling with stress due to academic dismissal or disciplinary action.
- 01 case related to challenges in social integration.
- 04 severe cases concerning stress, anxiety disorders, emotional conflicts, or other negative psychological manifestations.
Professional networking
Department of Student Affairs (DSA) has collaborated with many reputable organizations, psychological experts, and medical professionals in Vietnam and around the world. This network not only provides students access to professional counseling services but also reaffirms UEH’s commitment to building a safe, supportive, and healthy learning environment.
Thanks to the professional networking, in 2024, DSA organized many specialized events and provided support for severe cases requiring consultation and intervention from experienced professionals in the field.

Apart from workshops and seminars on mental health, UEH also focuses on developing resources that allow students to practice self-care, such as the “Self-care for mental health” Guidebook or the “Self-Assessment Toolkit for students”. With these resources, students can proactively recognize their emotions, evaluate their mental state, and seek timely support when needed.

Furthermore, UEH regularly publishes articles on building a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Along with other cultural, artistic, and sports activities, UEH aims to create a positive environment that nurtures both physical and mental well-being.

The Self-Assessment Toolkit for students, compiled and implemented by the Department of Student Affairs (DSA), provides students with practical tools to identify their mental and emotional states.
