The shyness and hesitation at the beginning of school are over, October is the month of “landing” for K49 students at UEH English Zone. With a youthful spirit and willingness to experience, our freshmen have created a more exciting atmosphere than ever for EZ this October. Let’s relive those moments with us and immerse yourself in this excitement!

Shyness asides, let’s confide with UEH English Zone

The first few months in a foreign land are probably the time when students face the biggest culture shock. Because this is the period when they have to go through changes in all aspects of life, especially relationships: having to live far away from family, connections abruptly become distant because “one is at the beginning, the other is at the end of a river,… Having no one to talk with. Deeply understanding that feeling, on October 11th, the Youth Union of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in conjunction with UEH English Zone organized the Coffee Talk #30: Relationtrip with the desire to create an opportunity for students to share their stories about changes in personal relationships. This is also an opportunity for them to have new companions for thr upcoming journey.

Music has always been an indispensable part of our lives. And within the framework of Coffee Talk held every 2 weeks at English Zone, the Coffee Talk#31: Musileb held on October 26th is designed for music-lovers. At this ECoff, the students will freely discuss knowledge, music idols and show off their singing talent right away.

This October, there’s also a very special day, which is Vietnamese Women’s Day – October 20th. And to honor the value of these silent “superheroes”, the Speaking Group Extended – She/Her/Hers session was co-organized by Bell UEH English Club and UEH English Zone on October 19th was upbrought to express gratitude to the amazing women in our lives. Here, English Zone’s got the chance to immerse in many meaningful and emotional stories.

Play hard – Work hard

Continuing the legacy of September, UEH English Zone has some new and interesting formats to welcome students. As always, Board Games are still the highlight of UEH English Zone with many diverse game titles, from brain-twisting sets like Monopoly Deal, Coup or Stitches, to “senseless” but no less attractive ones like Happy Salmon. Although the promise of “a new board game every month” has not yet been fulfilled, don’t be sad, UEH English Zone assures to bring many pleasant surprises in November!

“Brain twisting” Board Games have brought a lot of laughter and intellectual challenges

UEH English Zone Talks are equally exciting with extremely diverse topics but also very familiar to students such as love, fear, or preventing violence in life. UEHers were able to freely express multi-dimensional perspectives, debate actively, and improve their English skills in just over a short hour per Talk. Additionally, the UEH English Zone created a unique Talk session that combined the Talk and DIY in response to October 20th being Vietnamese Women’s Day. Even though there are challenges at first, our students eventually created lovely handmade cards to give to their beloved women.
