Pursuant to Official Letter No. 692/TTQLGTCC-QLĐH dated March 31, 2026, issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Management Centre of Public Transport regarding preferential policies for students using public bus services in Ho Chi Minh City, the City is currently implementing various initiatives to encourage students to use public transportation.
At present, the public bus system in Ho Chi Minh City has largely connected universities, colleges, and vocational schools across the city. Using buses helps students reduce daily commuting costs (including fuel, parking, and maintenance expenses). At the same time, public transportation contributes to reducing traffic congestion around school areas and minimizing environmental emissions.
1. Preferential policies for passengers and students
– Students using public bus services in Ho Chi Minh City are entitled to a discounted fare of VND 3,000 per trip.
Students may complete identity verification to use bus services instead of presenting a student ID card. Please refer to the verification guidelines here.
– 100% fare exemption (0 VND) is offered to all passengers who pay via e-wallets every Friday on VNPT Money, Viettel Money, ShopeePay, and ZaloPay (maximum of 04 trips per person per day).
In addition, UEH will award conduct points to full-time undergraduate students who complete identity verification on the MultiGo application before April 15, 2026, as follows:

+1 Green Point (Criterion 1.1.1.G)
2. How to look up bus information
To check bus arrival times, routes connecting campuses, and other public transport routes in Ho Chi Minh City, students can use the MultiGo application with the following features:
– Optimal route search: Suggests the most efficient routes by combining different public transport modes (bus, metro, waterbus, etc.)
– Arrival time prediction: Provides estimated arrival times to help users plan their trips effectively
– Multimodal integration: Allows users to access information on various types of public transportation, including metro and waterbus
– Cashless payment: Supports non-cash payments via the MultiPass card
