Learning a foreign language is a process of training and encountering many barriers and difficulties. Some people have put in a lot of time and effort but do not get the wanted results. On the contrary, many people only take a short time communicating basic or fluent in a language. Why is there such a difference? Success or failure in developing a new language depends on how the learners identify obstacles and each person’s ability to overcome them. In other words, language learning will be successful if learners practice for themselves the ability to learn independently, actively and regularly in practice.

To help UEHer have the opportunity to improve and enhance independent learning in languages, the workshop “Independent Language Learning: Insights for Success” are organized by the English Zone and the Schools of Foreign Languages. The event promises to bring a lot of attractive and helpful information as:

  • The concept of independent learning and its benefits when applied to foreign language learning
  • Principles for effective foreign language learning
  • Five decisive factors in learning foreign languages and how to conquer them
  • Know how to manage and “take charge” in learning a foreign language
