On August 30, 2023, Department of Student Affairs (DSA) and The School of Management (SOM) successfully organized the Acoustic Show: ILLUMINATE. This event, hosted at the UEH English Zone, aimed to maintain a healthy and enriching cultural and artistic movement for students, contributing to the comprehensive education goals for students.
From the very theme of this Acoustic Show, “ILLUMINATE”, it was evident that this was not just an ordinary music performance. It was an opportunity to embark on a journey to discover our unique qualities and become a shining star in our own lives, preserving the cherished values of today’s Gen Z – thoughts, emotions, and aspirations.
CHAPTER 1: SHY
The initial notes brought us a chance to connect with deep and tranquil emotions. Like the first rays of dawn, the music resonated, enhancing the delicate nuances of human emotions. The selected songs were gentle and minimalistic, yet they possessed the power to awaken the soul. It was a moment when you felt a sense of “shyness” in life, peaceful and meaningful moments, and you realized that within every individual, there exists a light waiting to be discovered.
CHAPTER 2: FINDING YOURSELF
It felt as if we were embarking on a soul-searching journey – “Finding Yourself.” Here, you immersed yourself in melodies that awakened understanding and the meaning of life. With each note and lyric, you gradually discovered a part of yourself, the precious values you carry, and grand ideas about life. The music seemed to propel your soul to overcome any challenge and find your own anchor.
CHAPTER 3: YOU ARE A STAR
Now, it’s time for you to confidently stand up and shine. The melodies here were filled with positive energy, encouraging you to believe that you are a star with the ability to illuminate life and make a difference. Each person is a unique version and a bright star in their own life.
In summary, the Acoustic Show concluded successfully, attracting over 100 students who registered for the event. The message about self-worth was conveyed strongly, and “ILLUMINATE” fulfilled its mission excellently by taking the participants on an emotional, exciting, and profound journey of self-discovery.

Additionally, heartfelt thanks go to the band and singers who collaborated with SOM and UEH English Zone to bring about a successful night of music.
