With the help of technology, individuals can communicate with people from many different cultures on social networks. Therefore, understanding the culture of many countries will help a lot in the communication process.
Intercultural communication means communication across different cultural boundaries. It can be defined as sharing information on different levels of awareness between people with different cultural backgrounds. Besides, mastering intercultural communication skills and knowledge about cultural differences also helps us to fully absorb information sources (books, newspapers, etc.) in other languages. Language is not only a means of communication but also carries the cultural breadth of the area where that language is used.
To help UEHers have the opportunity to on these special skills in the working and practical context, the Department of Student Affairs and the Schools of Foreign Languages are organising a workshop with the topic “Intercultural Communication in Working Contexts: Stereotypes and practices” in the series of periodic activities Language Workshop. With the companionship of M.A. Vu Ngoc Tung, lecturer at the University of Languages and International Studies, National University in Hanoi City.
