[UEH EZ x SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES] Language Workshop: “Academic writing: Write it right”

 

Academic writing skills are very important in university, especially in writing the essay, thesis, research works, and scientific articles. Writing skill is also one of the four skills of international language certification tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT, which requires a lot of strict standards in terms of vocabulary, grammar, reasoning, and expression. In addition, what makes academic writing special is that information must be presented in a clear, systematic and logical manner.

 

The requirements for academic papers have never been easy. Many people have difficulty applying this skill, especially when using a second language like English. Some problems can be mentioned, such as limited vocabulary, insufficient information, reasoning not being coherent. This significantly affects the results of the article and the persuasion of the information conveyed, thereby not being appreciated professionally.

 

To help UEHer have the opportunity to improve their academic writing skills and prepare for international exams, English Zone and the Schools of Foreign Languages ​​are organising a workshop with the topic “Academic” writing: Write it right”. English Zone UEH warmly welcomes the companionship of Dr. Deborah Laurs, Assistant Manager of Student Learning at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
