As we welcomed the radiant days of June, the UEH English Zone transformed the online space into a vibrant, creative playground for all English enthusiasts. With a wide range of exciting and meaningful activities, students had the chance to connect, express themselves freely, and grow more confident in using English. Let’s look back at the memorable highlights of June and get ready for more exciting surprises from UEH English Zone in the future.

Summer – A Season of Emotions and Memories on Kumospace

This summer, UEH English Zone kicked off the season with the heartfelt topic “First Times”, a space for students to share their personal milestones, from awkward beginnings to unforgettable breakthroughs. Through these stories, participants found emotional resonance and strengthened bonds through shared life experiences. EZ Silver Screen also made its much-awaited return with the film “Don’t Look Away.” Exploring hidden fears and quiet strength, the film left viewers with profound reflections and meaningful takeaways. To close out the month, the EZ Talk session on “Red Flags and Green Lights” took a deep dive into identifying warning signs and positive cues in relationships, whether personal, academic, or professional. Students agreed that learning to spot these “flags” is more than just a soft skill, it’s a life compass guiding us through transitions, from school to the workplace and beyond.

Each EZ session brought students closer together, opening doors to new friendships and meaningful conversations.

Codenames: The ultimate word showdown

This month EZ boardgame was a total blast as the online version of Codenames returned! Acting as secret agents, players raced to recover hidden clues while avoiding traps, resulting in wild guesses, epic facepalms, and nonstop laughter. More than just a game, Codenames challenged participants to sharpen their strategic thinking and communication skills, all while immersed in English.

“Board games at EZ are just a piece of cake,” said no one ever.

The summer crossroad to reflect, recharge and reconnect

In collaboration with BELL English Club, “The Summer Crossroads” invited students to open up about a classic question: Should we rest or strive harder during summer? The event sparked heartfelt discussions, helping participants realize that each path, whether to pause or push on—is valid and worth embracing. Meanwhile, the ECOFF team from the Faculty of Foreign Languages joined UEH English Zone with the travel-themed session “Time to Travel.” Students shared stories of inspiring adventures, favorite tourist spots, and pride in their hometowns. To wrap up the month, ECOFF brought an introspective twist with the session “Old Me vs. Now Me.” Together, students revisited their personal journeys, comparing their younger selves to who they are today: more resilient, more self-aware, and ready to take on what’s next.
