Colors of August: A Journey of Unforgettable Moments

As August arrives, the scorching summer gradually fades, making way for the excitement of a new school season. To welcome UEH-ers back to campus, English Zone rolled out a series of fun activities – where learning meets playing, connecting, and practicing English – all promising a vibrant start to the new semester.

A heather named ‘Summer Recap’ is worth treasuring

Back-to-school vibes continued with EZ Talks themed “Summer Recap”. This cozy session invited students to look back on their summer, from exciting trips to the simplest yet most memorable moments. It was like a gentle pause before the new semester, leaving every UEH-er with smiles, stories to tell, and positive energy for the journey ahead.

Opening up with “The Tonight B Show”

Kicking off August’s English Park activities was the Speaking Group Extended session “The Tonight B Show” – a Gen Z-inspired talk show organized by BELL Club in collaboration with UEH English Zone. Taking inspiration from the charm of popular TV game shows, the event created a dynamic space where UEH-ers could both challenge themselves with mind-bending games and freely express their feelings and thoughts about shows in English.

When food becomes a universal language

This week, English Park teamed up with English Coffee Talk (ECOFF) to host A Culinary Talk – a flavorful and insightful experience. Food is more than taste; it’s culture, a story that connects people worldwide. From Italy’s hot pizza to Vietnam’s iconic pho, each dish is its own “language” of understanding. Together with English Zone and ECOFF, students explored the world through cuisine, spicing up their English skills and picking up handy “cooking hacks” for a wholesome back-to-school season.

Students are excitedly sharing their cooking ‘tips and tricks’ with each other.

Step out, speak out – when English is no longer a safe zone
After the gentle summer reflections, “Comfort Zone” at Nguyen Van Linh campus appeared as a refreshing highlight, carrying the spirit of “daring to step out to grow up” – encouraging UEH-ers to boldly challenge themselves to grow every day, not only in English but also in their journey of self-discovery.

A cat that belongs only to you

The most special activity in August was the “Purr-fectly Handmade” workshop – clay cat sculpting. While chatting about their “majestic bosses,” students freely unleashed creativity with clay, each taking home a unique cat of their own. These cute little creations, whether as gifts or keepsakes, surely made the back-to-school season sweeter.

When board games steal the spotlight

In true UEH spirit, students created entertaining and intellectual moments together through board games. With “Earn Coup To Get Soup,” logical thinking was put on stage as each move and decision influenced the game, creating a tense atmosphere bursting with laughter.

A “debut” of a new politician at the Boardgames event Lie To Lead

Lie To Lead immersed UEH-ers in rounds of reasoning, persuasion, and “tactical lies.” Taking on roles in two political camps – Liberal and Fascist – players stepped into a thrilling mind game. Would justice defeat the dark side, or would schemes prevail?

“Fur Real!?” Plot Twist with Cats

At Nguyen Van Linh campus, “Fur Real (Kitten Bomb)” brought players moments that were both irresistibly cute and hilariously unexpected – making everyone jump, then burst into laughter. More than just fun and games, our Game Nights captured the true UEH-er spirit: competitive yet collaborative, and always turning every experience into a chance for connection and growth.

What a big surprise!

We wrapped up a vibrant August at UEH English Zone with cozy conversations, thrilling board games, and creative moments. Each activity became a unique piece of the puzzle, shaping a community of dynamic, confident, and ever-curious UEH students.
