Today, English is no longer considered an elective foreign language but a passport that opens up international career and study opportunities. However, why do most students still need help with English, especially speaking skills?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quick statistics from several universities in Ho Chi Minh City show that many Vietnamese students <\/a>still need help learning English, especially speaking skills when communicating. Tran Anh Thu, a new student, frankly admitted: “Although I have been studying English in school since grade 6, I am very shy when speaking English because I am afraid that people will make mistakes in pronunciation, grammar, etc. .. Now that I’m in university, I continue to struggle every time I use English to communicate, study and work.” Besides, when placed in the context of assessing speaking skills in international exams, the fear of being wrong and the double pressure makes you even more worried, especially in high academic competitions such as IELTS and CEFR,…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Understanding that, UEH English Zone has organized many language seminars focusing on language skills to help learners at UEH be confident and have the opportunity to improve English ability. Following the theme of conquering IELTS in October, the November topic “Planning IELTS Part 2 Speaking” was developed with Mr. Benn Smythe – Former IELTS examiner and IELTS teacher at TDP IELTS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussion is an open space for exchange and interaction between experts and attendees, sharing knowledge to improve language ability.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program was successfully held and received a lot of attention from first-year students. This result has shown your activeness and initiative in improving and improving your language skills on your university journey. Through the methods shared by the speakers in the program, you have become more confident in planning and presenting ideas and understand the guidelines for overcoming the “struggling” of speaking English: It’s practice and perseverance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the enthusiastic guidance of the speaker, the students had time to practice many interesting topics.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully, with the useful sharing from the speakers, the students will have more experiences to apply to overcome the fear of speaking English and constantly learning and improving themselves to learn English, ready with a confident attitude to face all challenges and barriers to becoming a global citizen, stepping out into the world to develop themself, and contributing to UEH student movement to international integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
