\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 English Version Every full moon of the eighth lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival returns as a special occasion for people to gather, share, and celebrate long-standing cultural traditions. Beyond its meaning of reunion, the festival carries a rich cultural heritage through stories, folk games, and customs passed down from generation to generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 23, 2026, at B1 Hall, UEH Nguyen Tri Phuong, Cultural Connections 2026: Moonfest: UEH50 \u2013 Harvest of Dreams brought together UEH and international students in a vibrant space for cultural exchange, where participants could meet, connect, and discover the beauty of Vietnamese Mid-Autumn traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing the spirit of the Cultural Connections series at UEH English Zone, the program went beyond celebrating the festive atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival. It also created opportunities for participants to share stories, memories, and traditions from different cultural backgrounds. Through these exchanges, both the similarities and differences in how the festival is celebrated became a bridge for greater cultural understanding and new connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Lion Dance Opened a Journey of Cultural Discovery\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening began with an energetic traditional lion dance, as the lively sounds of drums and dynamic movements brought the festive spirit of a Vietnamese Mid-Autumn celebration to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the familiar images of the Lion and \u00d4ng \u0110\u1ecba, students were also introduced to distinctive elements of Vietnamese Mid-Autumn culture. Familiar to generations of Vietnamese people, these figures became a starting point for participants from different cultural backgrounds to discover the stories and meanings behind Vietnamese traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Cultural Differences to New Connections\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than simply learning about the festival through stories, participants became part of the experience through \u201cCu\u1ed9i Says.\u201d Simple challenges quickly filled the space with laughter and interaction, helping break the ice and bringing together students who had only just met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cultural exchange continued as participants shared how the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated across different countries and cultural backgrounds. From childhood memories and festive foods to customs and traditional activities, each story offered a different perspective on the same celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through these conversations, the Mid-Autumn Festival became more than the tradition of any single culture. Instead, it became common ground where participants could discover both the similarities and differences between cultures and gain a deeper appreciation of the diverse traditions around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experiencing Vietnamese Culture Firsthand\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity to experience Vietnamese folk activities firsthand. Participants explored t\u00f2 he making, shuttlecock kicking, tung c\u00f2n, and lantern painting, turning cultural traditions from something to simply hear about into something they could experience for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each activity offered a different glimpse into Vietnamese culture\u2014from the creativity and craftsmanship behind t\u00f2 he figurines and the coordination required for shuttlecock kicking to the challenge of tung c\u00f2n and the joy of decorating a personal Mid-Autumn lantern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than simply games, these activities created an open space for UEH and international students to interact, help one another, and discover Vietnamese traditions naturally through shared experiences. Musical exchanges throughout the evening added another layer of connection, bringing even more energy and warmth to the celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience of hand-sculpting T\u00f2 he, painting lanterns, kicking shuttlecocks, and engaging in tung c\u00f2n helped attendees understand traditional values intuitively and had wonderful memories together.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closing a Mid-Autumn Night, Opening New Connections\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an evening filled with activities, the program gradually came to a warm close with a tea break and the traditional Mid-Autumn ph\u00e1 c\u1ed7, where participants gathered to share festive treats. Alongside the food came conversations, laughter, and new connections formed through an evening of cultural experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final group photo captured more than the end of a Mid-Autumn celebration. It marked a journey where participants from different cultural backgrounds came together to experience \u2013 share \u2013 understand \u2013 connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through cultural stories, folk games, music, and traditional experiences, Moonfest: UEH50 \u2013 Harvest of Dreams contributed to a welcoming space for cultural exchange at UEH, where Vietnamese traditions could be shared, and cultural differences could inspire greater understanding and connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the evening came to an end, the laughter, shared moments, and memories of September 23 remain. Our heartfelt thanks go to all students, participants, and members of the Organizing Committee who came together to make Cultural Connections 2026 a memorable celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
