Held on the afternoon of December 8, 2025, the Mini Talk \u201cBuilding Early: Lessons from Joining a Startup\u201d organized by UEH offered practical insights and clear guidance on early career development, especially in the startup environment.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attending the program from UEH were Dr. Dinh Cong Khai – UEH Vice President; MSc. Nguyen Van Duong – Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department; MSc. Phan Lam Thao – Deputy of the Student Affairs Department; together with UEH lecturers and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, Dr. Khai highlighted that entrepreneurship is not only about launching a business right away, but also about developing an entrepreneurial mindset and essential foundational skills while still in university. He emphasized that real experiences and real challenges in startups help young people grow more quickly and gain greater confidence about their future paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening Remarks by Dr. Dinh Cong Khai<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program continued with an open conversation featuring two guest speakers: Mr. Fil Graniczny, Head of Operations at AI LA, and Mr. Vincent V., Software Engineer at Uplimit. They began by helping students understand the core differences between working in large corporations and in startups. Corporations offer the chance to learn standardized processes, work on large-scale systems, and experience well-structured operations. However, progress may move slowly due to complex procedures, interdepartmental coordination, and strict security measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Startups, on the other hand, are small, flexible, and driven by innovative solutions to problems that may not yet have clear answers. Joining a startup means contributing directly to a broader vision, taking on multiple roles, and developing skills that are often difficult to gain in larger environments. While the pace can be intense and the pressure significant, these challenges help build resilience, discipline, and strong professional values, qualities that matter for long-term success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overview of Mini Talk \u201cBuilding Early: Lessons from Joining a Startup\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two speakers also highlighted three key takeaways for UEH students. First, do as much as possible and embrace failure. Second, focus on high-value tasks. With the support of AI, students should prioritize work that creates real impact for customers or the organization, rather than low-value tasks. Third, always maintain high standards in everything you do. High-quality, well-crafted outputs are what make you stand out and earn trust in any environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the session, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of stepping into different environments, projects, internships, and collaborations with startups. These experiences help them understand themselves better, strengthen problem-solving skills, improve adaptability, and gradually shape a future built on consistent learning and effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
